Antique ferrotype (sometimes melainotype) photos of unknown subjects taken during the Victorian Era (late 1800s to early 1900s) as evidenced by their clothing and method of photo developing used. Each photo is housed in a small, ornate gilded frame.

Tintypes first emerged in the 1850s as affordable alternatives to the daguerreotype and ambrotypes, allowing wider access to personal portraiture and serving as treasured keepsakes throughout the Civil War era.
